The mineral waters of Albert Canyon were allegedly discovered by CPR
workmen at the turn of the century. They built a timber enclosure at
the site of the springs as this was used as a pool until the town site
was abandoned when the CPR removed the maintenance post. The Albert
Canyon "ghost" town remains a short distance south of the
present pool site.
Canyon Hot Springs Resort is centrally located between Mt. Revelstoke
and Glacier National Parks in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The
beautiful Giant Cedars Boardwalk is only 5 km west of the resort.
Hiking opportunities abound here at Canyon Hot Springs. Hike right from
the resort or travel a short distance to the Mt. Revelstoke or Glacier
National Parks. Trails ranging from handicap accessible to challenging
